How was innes Pearl-Index determined?

With the inne Minilab, the company has set out to provide women worldwide with a modern, safe and hormone-free method to deal with all aspects of their fertility. This includes conception support and cycle tracking as well as contraception. 

In 2022, inne, as the first saliva-based hormone and cycle tracker on the German market, commissioned a clinical, independently conducted study to evaluate the effectiveness of the inne Minilab in preventing pregnancy, with the aim of using the inne Minilab as a natural method of contraception. 

The State Office for Health and Social Affairs has reviewed and approved the study protocol.
In an independent clinical study, 288 participants took part. 1467 cycles were observed, which corresponds to 112.85 woman-years.

The study results certify that the inne Minilab is 100% effective with "perfect use" (Pearl Index 0.0) and 92% effective with "typical use" (Pearl Index 7.98). 

The documentation of the inne Minilab for the intended use of contraception is currently available to the responsible EU certification bodies for medical devices. 

DISCLAIMER: In the sample of cycles analyzed in the study for the Perfect Use estimate (1165), 100% efficacy was achieved, but there is a residual risk of pregnancy outside the study that cannot be excluded. For this reason, we warn users that no contraceptive method is 100% effective.
