The Pearl Index shows how reliable a contraceptive method is. It indicates how many out of 100 women become pregnant within one year of using the method.
For inne, this means:
-
With perfect use (daily, correct measurements with the inne Minilab), the Pearl Index was 0.0. This means that no pregnancies were observed during the clinical study.
-
With typical use (including occasional missed days or application errors), the Pearl Index was 7.98. This means that, on average, about 8 out of 100 women would become pregnant over the course of a year.
The lower the Pearl Index, the more effective the method. A Pearl Index of 0.0 is exceptionally strong – but it’s important to remember: no contraceptive method is 100% effective, even if no pregnancies occurred in the study.
inne offers a level of protection comparable to the pill – but without hormones. What matters is that you track consistently and follow the guidance in the app.

Can I already use inne for contraception?
Very soon! inne has officially been certified as a hormone-free contraceptive. The contraception mode will be unlocked in the app within 90 days of the announcement (as of June 19).
If you start tracking now, the algorithm will learn your cycle – so you’ll be fully in sync with the contraception mode from day one. You don’t need to do anything – the mode will appear automatically in your app once it’s available.
