You can now use inne for natural contraception—safe, hormone-free, and non-invasive.
➡️ Here’s everything you need to know for a smooth experience.
How does pregnancy happen?
Pregnancy occurs when a sperm meets an egg and the fertilised egg successfully implants in the uterus. For this to happen, the egg must first be released from the ovary and travel down the fallopian tube toward the uterus. This process is called ovulation—and it only happens once per cycle.
That means you’re not fertile every day, but only during a specific phase of your cycle.
When am I fertile?
Once the egg is released, it can be fertilised for about 24 hours. After that, your body breaks it down.
But no—you’re not just fertile for 24 hours.
Your fertile window starts about 4–5 days before ovulation and ends 1–2 days after ovulation.
Why? Because sperm can live in the uterus for up to 5–6 days, and the egg can survive for 1–2 days after ovulation.
This combination creates what’s known as the fertile window.
Example: If you have unprotected sex 5 days before ovulation, sperm may still be present when the egg is released.
How does inne predict my fertile window?
To support you in using inne as contraception, your inne app gives you a fertility prediction for each new cycle. This takes into account:
- Your unique cycle length
- The lifespan of sperm
- Your previous progesterone data (once available)
Orange days = fertile
On these days, you’re fertile. You’ll need to use additional protection (like condoms). The inne app will remind you with a banner: Use protection today.
⚠️ Important: Having unprotected sex on orange days can lead to pregnancy.
Blue days = not fertile
On these days, you’re not fertile. Unprotected sex won’t lead to pregnancy.
⚠️ Just remember: inne doesn’t protect you from sexually transmitted infections.
When does my fertile window end?
Your fertile window ends once your ovulation has been confirmed through your progesterone data. To make sure this happens, keep up with all important measurements shown in your app.
After ovulation, your progesterone levels rise noticeably. If this rise is visible for three days in a row, your ovulation is confirmed.
The day of ovulation will be marked with a purple circle and the rest of your cycle days will be blue—meaning you’re no longer fertile
Ovulation confirmed = back to non-fertile days.
💡 Depending on when your ovulation actually happens, you might get additional or less orange days.
What if my ovulation is not confirmed?
inne still has your back. If ovulation can’t be confirmed, your fertile window is extended and more orange days will appear.
This can happen when you have an anovulatory cycle (no ovulation) or your hormone levels fluctuate so much that no clear progesterone rise is detected.
⚠️ Just follow the app: Always use protection on orange days.
inne learns from your data
In your first cycle using inne for contraception, you might notice a wider fertile window. That’s perfectly normal. inne is just getting to know your unique progesterone patterns.
With each cycle you measure, your fertility predictions will adjust and your fertile window will become more precise. Remember that consistent measurements are key!
