We've made sure that the saliva collection is quick and intuitive so that your inne ritual can be seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
However, it's completely normal for it to take a few attempts at the beginning before you get a feel for your saliva flow - so let's take a look at the steps for your testing routine:
- Collect a pea-sized amount of saliva in your mouth
- Place the opening of the inne strip (marked with a drop symbol) on your lips
- Now let a small amount of saliva flow into the inne strip
How do I know if I have collected enough saliva?
To start with, we recommend that you stand in front of a mirror. This will give you the best opportunity to observe your strip and saliva flow.
The flow indicator in your inne Strip will temporarily turn light red, indicating that the saliva is starting to flow through the inne Strip.
As soon as you can see the flow indicator change color, insert the inne Strip into your inne Reader.
If there is not enough saliva, the flow indicator will remain white. Carefully try to place a little more saliva in your inne strip until the flow indicator turns a light red color.
If there is too much saliva flow, the liquid will come out of the opening. Don't worry - it's happened to all of us. Just take a new inne strip and start your measurement again with a little less saliva.
We invite you to try out different methods to find out the best way to take your saliva sample:
- Does your mouth feel dry? Drink water 10 minutes before a measurement.
It is completely normal for our mouth to feel dry when we wake up. Our salivary glands are inactive during sleep. Give your body some time to wake up and make sure you are well hydrated. - Unsure about the right amount? Try collecting a saliva sample in a spoon.
This way you can see the amount of saliva collected and get a better sense of how much fluid needs to be placed in your inne Strip.
